Raffia is a palm-derived fibre which is used when wiring and shaping branches. It is known for its flexibility and strength, making it good for protecting delicate branches from breakage or damage during wiring. By wrapping raffia around thick branches before applying wire, bonsai artists can ensure that the wire does not cut into the bark as the branch is bent. Available in a 50 gram bundle.
